“After Midnight” for tenor trombone and piano was first conceived on 29th November 2010. Being the accompanist for the trombone studio at the conservatory where I work, I had always wanted to write something for the trombone. It was after playing two lovely trombone and piano pieces, Daybreak and Sunset, by Italian trombonist-composer, Nicola FERRO, that I had the idea to write this piece.
After Midnight is a slow and jazzy piece, set in a smoky lounge where everyone is feeling drunk and sleepy. This piece is in my second album, Music Diaries. The mp3 can be purchased on iTunes.
